The Center for Care Innovations (CCI) designs and carries out programs focused on transforming the health care safety net to prepare providers for the future. Key focus areas include innovation, patient engagement, access to care, care for high-risk/high-cost patients, and data analytics. CCI provides research, technical assistance, and funding for specific projects. They also facilitate learning networks for health care safety net organizations.

This project builds upon a planning grant in which CCI helped St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, in Paterson, to develop an approach and implementation plan for an Innovation Center, based on a model followed by the Columbus Regional Health System, in Columbus, Indiana. In this project, CCI is providing strategic guidance and support as St. Joseph’s establishes and strengthens the Innovation Center, which is designed to design and carry out new solutions and cost-effective approaches to improving patient care.
