Programs for Parents serves as Essex County’s Child Care Resource and Referral Agency. It provides child care resource and referral information to the general public; provides child care referral and placement services and financial assistance to eligible families; and administers the NJ Warmline, which gives health information and training services to child care providers and parents throughout the state.

This project supports the development of a webinar and associated promotional materials to improve awareness of the shared services approach among New Jersey early childhood program agencies and providers. In this approach, early childhood programs share administrative functions with other organizations that provide the same types of services, thereby reducing costs and improving management strength and service quality. The project also supported the participation of three Programs for Parents staff members in the National Shared Services Learning Community 2014 Shared Services Study Tours.
