Programs for Parents serves as Essex County’s Child Care Resource and Referral Agency. It provides child care resource and referral information to the general public, provides child care referral and placement services and financial assistance to eligible families, and administers the NJ Warmline, which gives health information and training services to child care providers and parents throughout the State.

This project supports New Jersey’s testing of Grow NJ Kids, the State’s early childhood program quality rating and improvement system. It targets 16 early childhood centers in the South Ward and Fairmount, which are Newark’s lowest income neighborhoods. The project also supports efforts by the centers to conduct pilot tests of enhancements to the basic Grow NJ Kids model.
